Whitney Warren (1864-1943) was an American architect, born in New York City. He studied at Columbia University and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1887, he co-founded the architectural firm, Warren and Wetmore, with Charles D. Wetmore. Their firm designed several iconic buildings, including Grand Central Terminal in New York City, the New York Yacht Club building, and the Ritz-Carlton hotels in New York and Boston. Warren was also involved in the redesign of the façade of the White House during the presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. He was known for his proficiency in the Beaux-Arts style of architecture and was a prominent figure in the Gilded Age of American architecture. Warren retired from his firm in 1931 and passed away in 1943.
